Accents' wall hangings are unique for their juxtapositioning of American
textile prints with ethnic Japanese fabrics and textiles. This
combination makes for a harmonious overall appeal.
In
my travels through Japan, I have searched out fabrics, scarves, printed
panels, handkerchiefs, furoshiki, tenugui, noren and other native textiles
that represent the simplicity and beauty of the Japanese arts and customs
both old and new. This collection is then used to form the basis of Japanesque
Accents wall hangings.
These
fabric wall hangings (or kakemono) were originally inspired by the seasonal
decorative scroll that is hung in the tokonoma ( focal point alcove in
traditional Japanese homes or tea houses). These printed 'panels' or textiles
are framed individually with a coordinating fabric that compliments their
own unique design and colors. They are then machine quilted to bring out
extra depth and dimension. These kakemono will bring a taste of Japan
to any home.
For
followers of Feng Shui, wall hangings that express upbeat or serene themes,
lucky symbolism and correct dominate color for its location within the
home, can be used combined with other Chinese symbols to attract and retain
good Chi in ones' environment.
