Care of Wall hangings:
Important
Note: Wall
hangings,
like fine tapestries, are subject to fade with time. To prevent premature
sun damage it is extremely important to locate wall hangings away from
sunlight. Japanesque Accents cannot guarantee fabrics from sun damage.
Take care to select a location to hang the wall hanging that is out of
direct sunlight to help preserve its colors longer.
After
receiving your wall hanging, hang it as soon as you can to help release
any wrinkles that might have formed during shipping. If the creases do
not fall out within a couple days after hanging, they may be eliminated
by a couple of different methods: The first, by hanging it near a source
of steam for a day or two (close to the shower or bath). The second, by
using the steam setting on a steam iron placed just barely touching the
surface of the cloth--never pressing down (this will permanently flatten
the batting core). If trying this method, take care not to directly touch
with the iron any shiny metallic printed areas that may be in the disign
of your wall hanging--as the metallic printing could melt. The third,
to hang some light weights (like lead fishing weights) to the bottom hem
of the wall hanging and allow them to gently pull the wrinkles out. If
none of these techniques works to eliminate the wrinkles, please consult
a professional dry cleaner. The wall hanging should never need cleaning--just
beat with your hand to remove dust--and, if you must, spot clean only
with a mild detergent and water.
